How to study foucsly in short time, with full understanding and without memorizing only information
What I will write now is from my experience during studying
I will tell you some constant rules for me that make study fast and with full concentration
First: be away from the methods that disperse your concentration and make you feel boring quickly
1) Study with paper and pen:
Is studying with paper and pen effective?
We always here our parents tell us “study with paper and pen”….. but actually I found that this is not effective…. Why???
There are many reasons that make this method not effective ….. like the following:
==> When you study with paper and pen, you will waste long time in writing and you will find that you need long time to finish studying your lessons and this will make you feel boring after short time and makes you want to stop studying and if you force yourself to continue studying, you will study without concentration and waste time and effort.
==> When you feel boring after short time and find that you spend long time without studying more lessons fast, you will be worry because you will feel that the time is running fast and you studying less lessons and less information>>>> and the result of this worrying is to lose your concentration.
==> also during studying with paper and pen, you will be absent-minded where your mind will start to think about non-important things or remember some funny situations while you still writing but you will not be aware what you are writing and thus studying will be just rewriting your lessons from your book to the empty paper without memorizing any information in your memory …… and this is waste time and efforts and then you will find that you don’t remember anything.
==> also the physical effort and the effort spent during brainer will make you feel tired and boring in short time.
These feelings will be stronger in exams time.
The net result of these feelings is that you don’t remember what you study
2) Studying with high voice:
Is studying with high voice is good or not?
Studying with high voice makes you feel headache after short time leading to quick reduction in your concentration.
And due to this headache, you feel tired and boring and also you will not remember what you study.
Now, you may say to me “you mean that we shouldn’t study with paper and pen and with high voice, so, how we should study? Do you have any solutions?”
See the next sections and you will see the solutions
Second: Follow the following rules:
1) Draw pictures of the full subject in your mind and your imagination to memorize your lessons easily:
Studying is like drawing a picture …… when you see a painter drawing a picture, we will say that it is beautiful and when you see another painter that draw the same picture you may found it more beautiful….WHY? …. This is because the second painter draw more details that make 3D picture.
I don’t understand….how these words related to the subject we talk about?
I will show you now…… when you study a lesson or topic, you should connect all information and details with each others to get the full idea of the subject.
In other words, if you imagine that your lesson looks like a picture, then when you connect all the details in sequence that makes you remember it easily, you will get all the points and understand your lessons like a story with sequence events.
For example, when you watch a movie, how you remember it???? Of course, by the screenshots of some scenes that stuck in your memory.
You can also draw some images and pictures in your mind that related to what you syudy … becasue remembering images is more easy and powerful that just remembering some text … You can save the image of a page or some text in a page in your mind … this will be good.
Studying and memorizing your lesson is the same idea
2) Imaging that you teach someone or that you explain the lesson to your friends:
The best way that makes you memorize your lessons and also makes you understand more and more details, is that you imagine that you teach or explain the lesson to someone………. Because when you teach or explain a lesson to someone, you will be more careful to make him understand all the details of that lesson.
You may say to me that if you should to imagine that you explain the lesson to someone, you should study with high sound….i will say to you “don’t study with high sound” …. You just study with very low sound like whispering and also you may do some body actions that you may do when you really teach or explain the lesson to someone like moving your hands.
3) Ask about every things (even every words) … ask why did he say that? How do he do that? And why did he say that and didn’t say that?
To study with full understanding and without just saving information in your memory and to understand all the details even if the information you study needs to be saved only….. you should ask why did he say that? How do he do that? And why did he say that and didn’t say that?
Explain more? ……. For example, you may not understand some information in your lesson …. In this case you have 2 choices; either to just save it in your memory without understanding, if you one of the people that don’t try to understand everything, or to ask why did he say that? How do he do that? And why did he say that and didn’t say that? And then try to find the answers of these questions because these answers make you understand everything very well and make sequence details and events in your lesson to draw the full picture to your lesson in your memory.
And to ask these questions to yourself, you should imagine that you teach or explain the lesson to someone ….. for example: if someone ask you to explain to him certain lesson, you will said to him “I will prepare it first in my mind then explain it to you” and when you go home, you start to study the lesson and prepare yourself to explain the lesson. In this case, you should guess the questions that this person may ask in the difficult parts of the lesson…..this is what the teachers do, where the teacher imagine that he teach a student who don’t know anything about the lesson and see the lesson with the mind of that student to know the questions that the student will ask….then after each question he start to imagine that he is in class and start to explain to be prepared very well to answer any question.
What I want to tell you that you should imagine that you are a teacher and read and study the lesson as the person you will explain to him and try to know the questions that this person may ask, then try to find the answers and the way by which you will explain to him.
4) Reach the point directly:
What do you mean?
